Joe Dimitri Nicholas, 43, of Deer Park had come to New Jersey to sell the detectives drugs before, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

Last night, he showed up around 9:30 p.m. for a half-ounce Molly deal and was arrested, the prosecutor said.

Detectives armed with a search warrant found the half-ounce hidden in a cake box in the glove compartment of Nicolas’s black Saab, Molinelli said. It had a street value of $6,300, he said.

Nicolas was being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute it.

An arraignment was scheduled for Monday.
