FORT LEE, N.J. -- A road rage incident that began in New Jersey ended at the other end of the Lincoln Tunnel when one motorist spray-painted a penis on the side of the other driver's truck, police said.
Officers on duty at Dyer Avenue early Tuesday grabbed the 34-year-old man and charged him with attempted assault and criminal mischief after the 9:30 a.m. incident, the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.
The driver had gotten out of his Toyota Camry while stopped at a red light after emerging from the tunnel and spray-painted the vulgar image onto a GMC box truck, Pentangelo said.
He then turned the can on the victim, who "thwarted the suspect's attempt by blocking the paint stream with his hand," he said.
The victim refused medical attention, Pentangelo said.
