Sgt. Christopher Jones was in a marked unit equipped with an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) around 2 a.m. when the blue 2002 Ford Aerostar passed him on Fort Lee Road, Capt. Scott Tamagny told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

Jones and Officer Eduardo Millan stopped the van and took 28-year-old Jawad Elkasri into custody, Tamagny said. A female passenger was released, he said.

Elkasri was being held on $5,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with receiving stolen property.
