Officers Sihoon Chung and Maria Perez responded to the 3:50 a.m. call from a resident on the 200 block of Harrison Street, Capt. Scott Tamagny told Daily Voice.

The resident “heard noises coming from the second floor and found an open first-floor window,” Tamagny said.

Chung found Leonia resident Fabian Soloman Reyes, 35, of the 300 block of Broad Avenue, on the closet floor, the captain said. He was carrying a metal pry bar and a glove, he said.

Reyes was released without bail pending an Oct. 26 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools, Tamagny said.

Police Chief Thomas Rowe thanked officers from Ridgefield and Englewood who rushed to the scene when the call came in.
