The green vehicle, with New Yor license plates, was headed north when it hit the unoccupied police car on the shoulder of the Palisades Interstate Parkway just north of the Englewood Cliffs Sunoco station at 1:45 a.m., PIP Police Chief Michael Coppola said.

Officer Jody Becker was investigating a 2 car, no-injury crash at the time, he said.

The Jaguar will show passenger-side damage and white-paint markings, Coppola said.

Anyone who sees it, or who has information that could help the investigation, is asked to call PIP police: (201) 768-6001 (Case Number: PI-14-15084).
