No serious injuries were reported after a dinner cruise yacht with nearly 100 Weehawken High School prom-goers and chaperones aboard bumped a smaller unoccupied boat from behind Thursday at a Hudson River pier in Hoboken, responders said.
Dozens of minor cuts, scrapes and other injuries were reported after the 210-foot Cornicopia Destiny rear-ended the docked 117-foot Sundancer at the 14th Street pier.
"Weehawken High School students disembarked the Destiny at 9:50 p.m.," Schools Supt. Robert Zywicki tweeted. "The students are en route to the Weehawken Elks via @WeehawkenTSD school bus. Students may continue the evening at the Elks until midnight.
"Every effort will be made to hold another prom before graduation."
