Help sought in stabbing death of woman whose house was torched

ONLY ON CLIFFVIEW PILOT: Authorities are asking for help in finding the person who stabbed a 69-year-old woman to death and then tried to destroy the evidence by burning down the woman’s Palisades Park house.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said he’s hoping for a call from a civic-minded citizen who may have recently come across someone with cuts or burns to the hands or limbs.

Dolores Alliotts was killed before the fire was set early Wednesday just before 3 a.m. at 261 12th Street. It took firefighters nearly two hours to get the blaze under control. They then found the elderly woman’s body.

Molinelli asked that anyone with information call either the Palisades Park Police Department (201.994.0900) or his department’s Major Crimes Unit at (201) 226-5651.
