FORT LEE, N.J. -- A 37-year-old Hackensack man drove his car to the middle of the George Washington Bridge, climbed over a railing and jumped to his death Monday evening, Port Authority police said.
A witness told police she saw him stop his silver Honda midspan, get out and go over the south walkway railing around 5:10 p.m., the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
An NYPD Harbor Patrol unit pulled the body from the Hudson River a short time later and brought it to the 125th Street pier, Pentangelo said.
It was the bridge's fourth suicide this year.
