Officer Ed Berdecia found a blue 2012 Honda sedan with a flat tire and body damage and the driver, 28-year-old Nicole A. Suero-Vinicio, with bloodshot and watery eyes after the 1 a.m. crash Saturday on the bridge's westbound upper level, Joseph Pentangelo of the Port Authority said.

Suero-Vinicio lost her balance during a field sobriety test and was taken into custody, Pentangelo said. The Honda also was impounded.

The driver of the other vehicle refused medical attention, Pentangelo said.

Suero-Vinicio was charged with DWI and careless driving and later released to a responsible adult pending a court hearing.
