The 33-year-old victim told police he was making a delivery on Manner Avenue when one of the boss signaled him over, saying he’d placed the order, Capt. Darren Sucorowski said this morning.
The boy was “fumbling through his pocket as if he were looking for money” when the second bandit pointed the weapon at the worker’s face and demanded money, Sucorowski said.
“The gun was then placed against the victim’s back and he was ordered to the ground face down,” the captain said.
The worker said the pair then took off and he called police.
Lt. Richard Uram, Detective Sean Delahanty and Officers Marc Amos and James Zangara recovered the Gamo PT80 BB gun — along with a pair of sweatpants that one of the boys was wearing — outside a Bellport Place residence, Sucorowski said.
Both boys were taken into custody and transported to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center in Teterboro, where they were being held on delinquency complaints charging them with armed robbery and illegal weapons possession.
