The bust, which went down just before 4 in the afternoon on Friday, occurred at the Skyview Motel on 7th Street when Anti-Crime/Narcotics Detective Cory Horton and newly promoted Detective Timothy Cullen spotted a “hand-to-hand drug transaction” involving both adults and a minor, Bendul said.

The investigators moved in shortly after the juvenile got into the adults’ car, the chief said.

The detectives grabbed all three, finding marijuana on one of the adults — 19-year-old Christian L. Corchado of Ponsi Street — Corchado and cash on the teen, he said.

A consented search of the vehicle turned up the watches, Bendul said.

Back at headquarters, the detectives determined that the watches were reported stolen, along with $19,000 worth of jewelry, in a Jan. 13 break-in.

That led to a second teen, who had some of the booty at his home, the chief said.

Corchado was released on a summons for marijuana possession.

His companion, Kevin J. Sobaci, 18 (photos above), also walked away after posting $20,000 bail on charges of burglary, theft, and loitering to commit a drug offense.

Juvenile complaints were signed against the teens, who were released to their parents’ custody.
