An annual graveside memorial was held Thursday for Fort Lee pioneer Alice Guy Blache – the first woman director in cinema history – who is buried in Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. Among the group attending were members of the Fort Lee Film Commission, who are pushing for Blache’s induction next year into the Directors Guild of America.

They are, left to right:

Nelson Page, Chairman of Fort Lee Film Commission, Tom Meyers, Fort Lee Film Commission Executive Director,  filmmaker and volunteer with Fort Lee Film Commission Nancy O’Mallon, Fort Lee Film Commission member Rutgers University Professor Richard Koszarski,  Directors Guild of America 4th Vice President and ABC TV One Life to Live Director Gary Donatelli, filmmaker and Fort Lee Film Commission volunteer Christina Kotlar, and first Chairman of the Fort Lee Film Commission Lou Azzollini.
