The beam apparently originated around 10 p.m. from Fort Lee Historic Park above the Hudson, which is closed after dark, local sources told Daily Voice.

The FAA confirmed that the crew of Spirit Airlines 630, an Airbus A320 that came from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, reported the incident.

Fort Lee police were also involved.
