Mikhail Goldman, 63, previously admitted not telling the IRS about a 5% fee he took on $12 million worth of checks he cashed that were written to various companies that he controlled.
U.S. District Court Judge Faith Hochberg ordered Goldman to pay $120,000 in restitution to the government as part of his plea deal and put him on three years of supervised release after he serves his sentence.
U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman credited special agents of IRS-Criminal Investigation for the investigation. Heading the prosecution was Senior Litigation Counsel Andrew Leven of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Health Care and Government Fraud Unit in Newark.
