Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office pulled over Oscar Junior Mercedes Rodriguez, 30, on eastbound Route 4 on Wednesday, acting Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Friday.
With help from Fort Lee police, they opened the "trap" and found 22 pounds of cocaine.
Wholesale the drug was selling for about $350,000, Grewal said. If sold on the street it would fetch $1,000,000, he said.
Rodriguez was being held on $125,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with possession with the intent to distribute the cocaine.
