Jingle Bells from 1857 has appeared in 373 movies, according to website FiveThirtyEight.com, which analyzed IMDB data. Auld Lang Syne is listed in 295 movie soundtracks, placing it second, while Silent Night places third with 254.
Jingle Bells and Silent Night are in the public domain, making both songs easy covers for musicians, FiveThirtyEight.com says. It analyzed data from Spotify. Silent Night is the most covered Christmas song, with 26,496 tracks. Jingle Bells is the third most covered holiday tune with 19,080, according to the webite.
