Audition For 'Pajama Game' With Leonia Players

LEONIA, N.J. — The Players Guild of Leonia is holding auditions for "The Pajama Game," a musical about disgruntled union workers at a pajama factory, on Sept. 12.

The following roles are available: 

  • Sid Sorokin (30-40), new factory superintendent, male lead, baritone
  • Katherine "Babe" Williams (25-35), head of grievance committee, female lead, mezzo belt
  • Myron "Old Man" Hasler (40-60), head of the factory, supporting, non-singing
  • Gladys Hotchkiss (25-35), Hasler’s secretary, supporting, alto
  • Vernon Hines (30-50), the factory timekeeper, comic role, supporting, baritone
  • Prez (35-50), supporting, tenor
  • Mabel (40-60), the mother hen of the factory and Sid's secretary, featured, alto
  • Mae (20-40), member of the Grievance Committee, featured dancer in “Steam Heat,” alto
  • Pop (50-65), Babe's kind and agreeable father, featured, non-singing
  • Max (20-60), a salesman.
  • Charley (20-40), a worker in the factory and the handyman, featured, ensemble
  • Joe (25-50), a factory worker and Prez's right-hand man, featured, ensemble
  • Brenda (25-50), A member of the Grievance Committee, featured, ensemble
  • Virginia (20-50), a factory girl and union activist, dancer, featured, ensemble
  • Poopsie (20-50), a factory girl and union activist, featured, ensemble
  • Factory Workers/Ensemble (20-35) male & female, various roles throughout, and used in all movement/dance sequences.

Auditions will be held at the Civil War Drill Hall Theater, 130 Grand Ave., Leonia starting at 10 a.m. Performances will be held on Dec. 4-6, 11-13 and 18-20.
