Shehrina Tabassum and Evannie Ramos are one year into running Crowns and Capes events.
It started as a hobby but has turned into a thriving business venture that they say continues to grow.
“It’s fun,” Tabassum told Daily Voice. “And for a lot of people it’s very convenient.”
Before they get down to business, Ramos and Tabassum will meet with a client to discuss every detail of a party — from the overall theme to a favorite scene in a book or a movie.
The idea is to bring youngsters’ imaginations to life — all by hand — and complete with crafts and even themed cakes.
“We customize it to a person’s needs,” said Tabassum, who recently helped plan a superhero bash, along with a speakeasy-themed, school fundraiser.
“It’s something unique,” she said. “Something you wouldn’t be able to get from Party City.”
