Fort Lee's Verismo Opera Stages Open Auditions

FORT LEE, N.J. -- The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera in Fort Lee will hold open auditions for "La Gioconda" and "Rigoletto" on Monday, Jan. 4 and Monday, Jan. 11.

Soloists in all vocal categories are invited to audition at BergenPAC's Drapkin Cabaret & Lounge, located at 30 North Van Brunt St. in Englewood.

Applicants must submit a bio listing current or past performances and roles sung, a resume, and a photo no later than Saturday, Dec. 26.

Vocalists should provide a list of three arias in their application, including at least one from the role to be presented in the audition and another in the same style.

A refundable $25 deposit must be submitted with all applications to secure an audition time.

Auditions will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. 4 and Jan. 11.

The company will present La Gioconda on Sunday, April 17, 2016 and Rigoletto on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016.
