According to Eric Sadi, Senior Vice President, Leasing for Simon who owns the mall, the zoned area, with a private entrance and easy accessibility, will create an enclosed environment with tenants geared towards affluent clients. The area will feature an elliptical concourse with two-level store fronts. Glass skylights 25 feet tall will create an open-concept atmosphere designed to complement the natural stone flooring and modern architectural details.

Construction has already begun at the property and will be ongoing through to the end of 2016 with a (hopefully) holiday opening. "It will most likely be phased through to the first half of 2017," he said. "I think there will be a lot of excitement. We have the asset and the right area."

Sadi said when Simon looked at the market and the demographic in Bergen and what’s in New Jersey as a whole, they realized there was a lack of this kind of "dedicated luxury" offering in the area.

The new portion, between Cheesecake Factory and Bloomingdale's, will offer a customer experience that aims to rival the world’s elite hotels complete with an exclusive valet area and concierge service.

Also new to the mall as of late 2016: an AMC 40,000-square-foot theater with nine screens, a wine bar and 1,040 fully reclining leather seats.
