It's Newark Airport like you've never seen it before. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has revealed plans to upgrade the airport with hopes of transforming it into a "world-class getaway" with modernized terminals. A preliminary list has been released of schools that received items that were part of a nationwide recall of millions of pounds of meat and poultry products over fears they may be contaminated with Listeria. The initial recall involving the manufacturer, Bruce Pac, was for 9,986,245 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) products sold at Walmart, Target, Amazon, Trader Joe's, 7-Eleven, Aldi, and other stores. A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Hackensack on Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, police said. The 74-year-old Garfield man was crossing Essex Street at Parkway when he was struck by a New York driver, 58, driving a Toyota Corolla around 7:35 p.m., Hackensack Police Chief Michael Antista said.
