Driver Seized After Sunday Morning Crash Splits Utility Pole In Ridgewood
A driver was taken after custody following a Sunday morning crash that snapped a utility pole in Ridgewood, causing scattered power and communications outages in the area. The uninjured driver was brought to Glen Rock police headquarters for a blood-alcohol test and then to village headquarters after the Acura RLX slammed into the pole on North Van Dien Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. March 3. Driver Hospitalized After Older-Model SUV Rams, Splits Pole In Glen Rock
A driver was hospitalized with what appeared to be minor injuries after his SUV slammed into and split a utility pole in Glen Rock. The driver sustained a leg injury when his 2008 Honda Pilot cracked the pole on Lincoln Avenue just north of Rock Road around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 27. He walked to a gurney, then was taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center by the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Squad. All Points Towing removed the SUV. Bus Downs Utility Pole In Paramus
A bus driver with no passengers avoided injury after toppling a utility pole in Paramus. The NJ Transit bus clipped the pole on East Ridgewood Avenue adjacent to the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. Contractor's Truck Splits Utility Pole On Busy Northwest Bergen Road
A stretch of Wyckoff Avenue was indefinitely closed Friday afternoon after a contractor's truck snapped a utility pole. The driver of the Louis Lee and Son asphalt paving truck out of North Haledon apparently wasn't injured seriously in the noontime-hour crash, which also downed wires, between Fardale Avenue and Lehmann Street in Mahwah. The road was closed in both directions while a crew from Orange & Rockland Utilities replaced the pole. Township police responded and were investigating.

A utility pole got knocked down outside a Hasbrouck Heights barber shop on Friday after a Jeep whose driver was on his cellphone drifted into oncoming traffic, authorities said. Utility Pole Toppled In Crash Outside Hackensack Church
An SUV collided with a sedan and then toppled a utility pole outside a Hackensack church on Thursday. The drivers – both female from Hackensack, one 75 and the other 47 – were hospitalized with minor injuries, as was a 14-year-old boy who was in the older driver’s Toyota Rav 4, Police Lt. Stretch Of Bergen Boulevard Closed All Day Tuesday After Hit-Run DWI Crash
FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- A stretch of Bergen Boulevard in Fairview and Ridgefield was expected to be closed all day Tuesday after a hit-and-run drunk driver downed a utility pole overnight, police said. Both directions were closed from Walker Street to Park Avenue after the white Ford Escape crashed near Jersey Avenue around 5 a.m. The southbound lanes were closed from Edgewater Avenue in Ridgefield to Park Avenue.
