A trapped victim was extricated and rushed to a nearby hospital following a fiery two-car crash in Morris County, authorities said. The Mountain Lakes Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the crash — which was initially reported as a car fire — at the intersection of Boulevard and Route 46 around 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, the squad said. Upon arrival, the department confirmed a two-car crash with entrapment and worked quickly to rescue the trapped victim. Swimmers Drown In North Jersey Lake
A trip to a North Jersey lake turned deadly for two swimmers on Tuesday, June 14. Bodies of the 17- and- 22-year-old Hispanic males were recovered from the waters of Mine Hill Beach in the evening hours, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. The pair had gone in with a group at the sand pits around 5:20 p.m. and never came out, launching an intensive search that was complicated by the vegetation below the surface. 'Let Me Get My Teeth On You': Drunk Sussex County Man Spits, Coughs On Officers, Police Say
A drunken Sussex County man spit, coughed on and tried to bite police trying to arrest him after finding him outside of a local business Tuesday, authorities said. Hamburg police responding to reports of an unconscious man outside of an Ames Boulevard business found Scott Thompson, of Stockholm, who was alert and conscious but highly intoxicated around 4 p.m., according to a news release from the Hamburg Police Department.
