Pedestrian Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train In North Jersey: Officials A pedestrian was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train at Union Station on Wednesday, Dec. 13, transit officials said. At 10:20 p.m., a Raritan Valley Line train, which departed Penn Station 40 minutes earlier, struck and fatally injured the pedestrian, NJ Transit said. There were no injuries reported to the 200 customers or crew on board the train, NJ Transit said. Raritan Valley Line service was suspended in both directions but later resumed, NJ Transit said. The pedestrian has not been identified.  New Jersey Transit police are leading the investigation.

Woman Struck And Killed By Car Near Newark Penn Station The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating after a woman was hit by a car in Newark and died early Monday morning, a spokesman confirmed.  The woman, whose identity was not immediately released, was hit near Penn Station, in the area of McCarter Highway and Market Street, around 2:20 a.m. She was pronounced dead at University Hospital about a half-hour later.  The driver remained at the scene, the prosecutor's office also said.

Man Killed By Train In Morristown A man was fatally struck by a train in Morristown early Friday morning, officials said. Twenty people were on train 6601 of the Morris-Essex line when the man was struck at Convent Station around 2:15 a.m., an NJ Transit spokesperson told Daily Voice. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The train was the last of the night from Penn Station to Dover.  Service to the morning trains will not be affected.

Man Killed By Train In Montclair, Delays Continue Monday Morning  A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train early Monday morning in Montclair, NJ Transit said.  The man, who Transit said was trespassing, was struck around 5:20 a.m. near Watchung Avenue by a train bound for Penn Station in New York. None of the 30 people aboard were injured.  The man's name was not immediately released  Delays on the Montclair Boonton line were about an hour as of shortly before 10 a.m.

Amtrak Worker Train Derails Near NYC's Penn Station, Commuter Tickets Cross-Honored By PATH Direct Saturday morning commuter rail service into Manhattan's Penn Station was being diverted to Hoboken after an Amtrak worker train derailed, NJ Transit said. Customers could then switch to PATH, which was cross-honoring their tickets at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street in order to get to the area. No injuries were reported after a mechanical problem caused the derailment just outside Penn Station, the agency said. The train derailed just before 7 a.m., NJ Transit tweeted. Results included LIRR delays in and out of Penn.

Port Authority PD Nabs Man Charged With Stabbing Woman On PATH Platform Port Authority police arrested a man who they said was seen on video stabbing a woman on a platform at Newark's Penn Station. Officers found the 25-year-old victim down on the platform, "bleeding from a puncture wound to her back," around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said. She was taken to University Hospital. Meanwhile, police recovered the knife used and arrested 38-year-old William F. Harden of Brooklyn. They charged him with aggravated assault, weapons count and possession of marijuana for a joint they said was found in his pocket, Pentangelo said.
