A 44-year-old Teaneck man is the third in the township to return a presumptive positive test for COVID-19 in New Jersey, officials said. He is hospitalized at Holy Name Medical Center in stable condition, according to a release from Dean B. Kazinci, Teaneck Township Manager. Gov. Phil Murphy on Wednesday announced eight new cases including one 17-year-old in Bergen, Monmouth and Middlesex counties. State health authorities on Wednesday asked any New Jerseyans who attended religious events at a Westchester synagogue to self-quarantine until this Sunday. Warren County Marijuana Dispensary Sets Spring Opening
Marijuana dispensary chain "The Apothecarium" has set a spring opening for its newest location in Phillipsburg. A marijuana growing operation in Morris County for global cannabinoid company TerrAscend, which owns The Apothecarium, was recently approved by the New Jersey Department of Health. TerrAscend will provide marijuana for the Warren County treatment center. The Phillipsburg facility will open at 55 S. Main Street, the former Phillipsburg Trust Co. building, reports say. State's First Death From Vaping-Related Illness Reported In North Jersey
New Jersey's first death associated with a vaping-related illness has been reported by the state's health department. The woman's death was reported to the health department in August and is under investigation by Department of Health Acting Commissioner Judith Persichilli. There are 12 confirmed cases of serious vaping-related lung disease in New Jersey, and two probable cases -- including this death. 9 Hospitalized In NJ With Breathing Problems After Vaping
Nine people who had been vaping in New Jersey -- mostly North Jersey -- were recently hospitalized with breathing problems that required ventilators, health officials said. The patients ranged between 17 and 35 years old. While no cancer, disease of infection was identified, all had a history of vaping, the state Communicable Disease Service said. Newark Airport travelers may have been exposed to measles at the end of May, state health officials said. A traveler with the highly-contagious disease arrived at Terminal B from Tokyo, Japan on May 29 at 5 p.m., the state's health department said. The traveler later left for Quebec, Canada from Terminal A.
