NY Man Fakes Slashing To Burglarize Route 17 Bank, Police Say
A 32-year-old New York man is facing charges in Paramus, NJ for pretending he was held at knifepoint in one location when, in fact, he was burglarizing another, police said.
Officers were called to the Dunkin parking lot at 492 Route 17 North on Sunday, Sept. 1 where Jonathan Gardner, of Canastota, NY, had told authorities he was being held at knifepoint and suffered a slash to his arm while defending himself from an attacker, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.

Loaded Guns, Pot, Mushrooms Lead To Arrests Of North Bergen Men Following Fairview PD Stop
A Fairview police officer found a North Bergen ex-con and a companion with 22 pounds of pot, six pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, two loaded guns and more during a traffic stop, authorities said.

An intoxicated driver crashed in Paramus during a brief Fair Lawn police pursuit, authorities said.
Officer Brad Pindyck tried to pull over the Mercedes Benz on Paramus Road after it passed him twice at slow speeds on eastbound Route 4 near Saddle River Road around midnight Saturday, Dec. 3, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Two carjackers terrorized a female driver in Englewood overnight, taking her new SUV, moments after mugging a man on a nearby street corner, authorities said.
The first victim was waiting for a ride share on Engle Street shortly after midnight Saturday when the robbers approached him, Oct. 1, Police Lt. Fred Pulice said.
