Wanted Teaneck Man Had Ski Mask, Firearm In Routine Traffic Stop: Police
A Teaneck man was arrested on multiple charges after police discovered a firearm, drugs, and paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Sussex Road, authorities said.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, detectives from the Teaneck Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit approached a vehicle displaying a fictitious registration and illegally parked on Sussex Road.
Inside, they found Gene M. Wigfall, 48, who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants out of Hackensack and Lincoln Park Municipal Courts.

Clothing Store Owner Secretly Filmed Employees Using Bathroom: Morris County Prosecutor
The owner of a Morris County clothing store is accused of secretly recording employees in the bathroom and then destroying the evidence, police said.
Nicholas Zirpoli, 35, used a device to surreptitiously record both male and female employees using the restroom of Plato's Closet in Ledgewood on or about Feb. 26, 2023, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.
Then, Zirpoli destroyed the files, police said.

A 39-year-old Morris County man was found hiding out in a garage loft after breaking into a local home, authorities said.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious male that entered a home on George Cobb Lane in Lincoln Park around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, police said in a release on Monday, July 11.
A follow-up investigation and search of the area led to the discovery of Bazyt M. Bergus Jr., who was found hiding in a garage loft with property that had been stolen from the home, police said.

DWI Motorcyclist, 28, Leads Police On Pursuit Through Passaic, Morris Counties
A Morris County motorcyclist had been drinking when he led officers on a pursuit through three different towns, authorities said.
Lincoln Park Police responded to the area of Valley Road on reports of of an erratic motorcycle driver May 1 around 10:30 p.m., authorities said.
The motorcyclist -- later identified as Elliot Montalvo, 28, of Towaco -- was located on Pinebrook Road, where police said he ran a stop sign, prompting them to pull him over.
The man didn't stop, though, and officers pursued him through Lincoln Park to Montville, back to Lincoln Park and finally to Wayne.

No Pets Inside, No Injuries Reported In Fire At Animal Hospital In Fairfield
No pets were in the Animal Hospital of Fairifeld when a destructive fire broke out Saturday night, responders said.
Staff made it out before the three-alarm blaze tore through the Fairfield Road building, which isn't a boarding facility.
The fire broke out shortly after 9 p.m. and immediately went to two alarms, the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department said.
Flames blew through the roof as firefighters conducted a "surround and drown," the department said.

A 51-year-old North Arlington native was one of two linemen electrocuted Monday while on a job in Warwick, N.Y., authorities confirmed.
Derrick Paris, a father of two who lived in West Caldwell, was on an assignment with E-J Electric for Orange & Rockland Utilities when he and co-worker Justin McLoughlin, 28, of Trenton, Ga., were killed.
Both Paris and his partner were veterans with decades of experience between them, authorities said.
