Firefighters Find Furry Friends At Ramsey House Blaze Firefighters scooped up a trio of dogs during a townhouse blaze in Ramsey. The two-alarm fire ignited in the kitchen of a Windsor Lane home in the Bears Cove development just off Route 17 around 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5. It was quickly knocked down and placed under control. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were rotated through rehab in the intense 90-degree heat. Golonek emptied two fire extinguishers on the flames while Novak opened a garden hose he'd pulled through an open French door of the 5,000-square-foot house on tiny dead-ended Dogwood Drive late on June 28. Firefighters responding to a CO alarm found roaring flames and heavy smoke at the Lakeview Drive home near the Rambaut and Maple lakes at 3:40 a.m. June 23. The destructive two-alarmer apparently ignited on a rear deck and extended to the 2½-story home. It was declared under control in well under an hour, with no injuries reported. Mutual aid responders reportedly included firefighters from Allendale, Fair Lawn, Franklin Lakes, Hawthorne, Ho-Ho-Kus, Mahwah, Midland Park, North Haledon, Oakland, Ramsey, Ridgewood, Saddle River and Waldwick.

A young female driver got out OK and didn't appear injured -- leaving the car tipped in a precarious position -- following the single-vehicle crash on the southbound highway near Hollywood Avenue on Friday afternoon, Feb. 24. The right lane was temporarily closed while the Honda CR-V was righted and removed. Ho-Ho-Kus police were investigating.

Nasty Crash Near Route 17 Sends Two To Hospital Two people were hospitalized following a crash at a busy Ho-Ho-Kus intersection. The collision at the five corners at Sheridan and Hollywood avenues near Gilbert Road around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 severely damaged an SUV and a wagon. Both victims were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't immediately considered life-threatening.
