Paterson was already reeling from three fatal shootings in a single day when a 23-year-old Riverdale man was killed and a 19-year-old Elmwood Park man was critically wounded Tuesday in a hail of gunfire at one of the city's deadliest street corners. Five people were shot early Sunday, Oct. 1 in Jersey City, and none were cooperating with the investigation, authorities said. A 76-year-old visitor to a Hackensack nursing home shot and killed his 73-year-old wife terminally ill wife and then turned the gun on himself, responders said.
