Funeral Service Scheduled For William Hennecke, 32, Of Fair Lawn
A funeral service is scheduled this week for 32-year-old Fair Lawn native William "Billy" Hennecke. Hennecke was graduated from Fair Lawn High School and Bergen County Tech, where he studied carpentry, his obituary says. He went on to work as an irrigation technician for Garden State Irrigation and Lighting. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing in local lakes and rivers and riding dirt bikes with family and friends. Hennecke, who died in a tragic Thanksgiving Day accident, is survived by his parents Hans and Eileen. He also leaves his sisters, Maureen Flax and her husb…

A 32-year-old driver from Fair Lawn was killed when his car struck a utility pole on Route 208 early Thanksgiving evening. William Hennecke was driving his 2002 Porsche Boxter convertible when it veered off the southbound highway and into a utility pole just past Maple Avenue shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, Fair Lawn police said. UPDATE: The New Jersey Parole Board has denied what had been the announced release of a convicted sex offender from Fair Lawn. "An administrative hold has been placed against this offender's parole date and he will not be released at this time," Tanya A. The Suburu Legacy plowed through the homeowner's fence on 12th Street at Berdan Avenue after colliding with a Toyota RAV4 early Saturday afternoon. A 17-year-old passenger was briefly knocked unconscious early Monday afternoon when a sedan plowed into a tree, flagpole, wooden fence and front steps of a Fair Lawn house, responders said.
