: Bergen County Nabisco Factory Has Implosion Date
What's left of the building that long housed Bergen County's Nabisco factory will soon crumble to the ground. The factory along Route 208 will come down at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, Glen Rock officials announced. Nearly 600 workers were laid off when the Nabisco plant closed after 60 years in 2021. Crews began tearing down the building to make way for a new distribution center owned by Greek Development, who is redeveloping the property.

The smells of freshly-baked cookies wafting through Fair Lawn will be no more come the end of this week. The long-standing Nabisco factory will bake its last batch on Friday. Last February, Mondelez International announced it would be closing its Nabisco plants in Fair Lawn and Atlanta, Georgia. The New Jersey Nabisco factory that has been pumping sweet cookie aromas into the air along Route 208 for years will shutter by the summer, leaving 600 workers without jobs. The Fair Lawn factory and another in Atlanta, Georgia will close in late August or early September, Borough Mayor Kurt Peluso and Nabisco's parent company, Mondelez International, said Thursday.
