Motorcyclists In Predawn Police Pursuit From Popular Fair Lawn Tavern Surrender
Two motorcyclists who recklessly eluded police during a pre-dawn chase that began outside a popular Fair Lawn tavern turned themselves in to face charges, authorities said. An officer who responded to a call that the men were drunk when they left the Dutch House on Fair Lawn Avenue chased the pair into Saddle Brook before losing them shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, Sgt. Brian Metzler said. Both Nicholas Jacobson, 24, of Saddle Brook, and Nicholas Ryan, 23, of Middlesex were later identified with help from Saddle Brook police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office, Metzler said. FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- A special fundraiser filled with food, drink and good will is being held today (Sunday) for a Fair Lawn family who lost a portion of their home and all their belongings in a fire. All who attend the event for the Milnes family at the Dutch House (24-07 Fair Lawn Ave) will get three hours of their fill for a $40 donation. The Milnes/Vaughan family was left homeless over the weekend when a fire tore through its Fair Lawn home. Kyle is a U.S. Army veteran. Steve is a Class 1 police officer and Rescue Squad member in town and Jackie is a preschool teacher. The family lost just about everything.
