Max Movie 'Sweethearts' Filmed In Bergen County Out Thanksgiving Day On Max
Nearly a dozen New Jersey towns serve as the backdrop for the Max Original film "Sweethearts," set to debut this Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28.
The romantic comedy starring Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga was filmed in Cranford, Jersey City, and Mahwah. Two cast members have Garden State ties: Jake Bonjiovi, son of NJ rocker Jon Bon Jovi, and former "Saturday Night Live" star Chloe Troast, of Ho-Ho-Kus, are featured actors in "Sweethearts."

Repeat Embezzler Absconds To Germany With Bergen Realtor’s $600,000
A convicted embezzler who’d apparently made a fresh start fled to Germany with $600,000 of a Bergen County realtor and commercial property manager’s money, authorities said.
Detectives in Closter were closing in on Klaus Brueggemeier, 57, of Demarest, when he absconded to Frankfurt and became a wanted man, Closter Police Capt. Vincent Aiello said on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Brueggemeier made headlines in 2009, when authorities charged him with embezzling $1.7 million from a high-end porcelain and glass company in Carlstadt.

Bicyclist From Englewood Hospitalized In 9W Crash, Driver From Westchester, 79, Cited
A 79-year-old driver from Westchester County was ticketed after she struck and injured a 42-year-old bicyclist from Englewood on Route 9W, authorities said.
The bicyclist was hit by the Toyota Corolla at Palisades Interstate Parkway Exit 4 shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday, June 11, Alpine Acting Police Chief Matthew S. Kent said.
Members of the Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Corps took him to Hackensack University Medical Center with face and back pain, the chief said.
The Ardsley, NY, driver was unharmed. She received a summons for failing to stop, Kent said.
