Train Fatal Confirmed In Fair Lawn
UPDATE: The victim of a fatal commuter train strike in Fair Lawn on Thursday was a township teenager, sources with direct knowledge of the incident said. The 16-year-old boy, who was in the 11th grade, was pronounced dead at the scene, they said. The 66 train on the Port Jervis Line struck the victim between the Broadway station and Morlot Avenue shortly after 4:30 p.m. Oct. 19, said Kyalo Mulumba, the transportation agency's senior public information officer. 'Person' Struck, Killed By Train In Passaic
Authorities on Tuesday were trying to identify a person struck and killed overnight by a commuter train in Passaic. The No. 1101 Main Line train left Hoboken -- bound for Suffern, NY -- shortly after 1:30 a.m. The pedestrian was struck at the Passaic station around 2 a.m. There were no injuries to the six customers or crew on board. NJ TRANSIT police were investigating. They not only hadn't identified the victim as of mid-morning on Tuesday. They didn't have a gender or approximate age. "It's still under investigation," said Emma Wright, NJT's senior public information officer.

: Hoboken-To-Port-Jervis Commuter Train Plows Through Stalled Tractor-Trailer In Rockland
UPDATE (w/VIDEO): Service was expected to continue as normal during Wednesday’s morning rush after a commuter train from Hoboken plowed through a stalled tractor-trailer Tuesday night in Rockland County. Witness Chris Schucht, of Tuxedo, captured video of the train hitting the trailer on Route 17 --- also known as Orange Turnpike – in Sloatsburg. Frightening Incident: Ridgewood Woman, 33, Dragged By Train In Glen Rock
A Ridgewood woman was seriously injured when she was dragged by a commuter train in Glen Rock, authorities said. The 33-year-old woman "appeared to have gotten her coat caught on the train and was dragged down the platform before falling" shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. She was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center with injuries that Ackermann weren't considered life-threatening. Police, firefighters and EMS workers responded. NJ Transit police were investigating.

NJ Transit: Nutley Man Struck, Killed By Train In Park Ridge
A 38-year-old Nutley man was struck and killed by a commuter train Monday morning in Park Ridge. The man drove to the area of the Dunkin' Donuts, just west of the Park Ridge train station, where an NJ Transit spokesman said he was struck at 7:25 a.m. The 1612 train left Spring Valley at 7:10 a.m. for Secaucus Junction and had 180 customers and a crew aboard, NJT's Nathan Rudy said. NJ Transit buses and private carriers picked up the passengers, he said. Service was resumed at 11:30 a.m.
