Coach USA Terminates 20 NJ Transit Lines In Filing For Bankruptcy, NJT 'Exploring Every Option'
The pressure is on for NJ Transit. The company was left high and dry when Coach USA announced it would be terminating its agreement with the major transportation company, halting service to 20 of its bus routes in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties come Aug. 16. The decision to do so was made amid Coach USA filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Megabus Passenger Files Suit After Double Fatal NJ Turnpike Crash
Yet another lawsuit has been filed in the double-fatal Megabus crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Woodbridge in 2022, according to court records. A passenger on the Megabus that crashed killing two passengers and injuring 17 others, has filed a lawsuit against the bus company and its driver, Eric Naughton of Westville. Kimberly Clay, of Manhattan, claims she suffered incapacitating injuries after Naughton was allegedly speeding. Commuter Bus Topples Traffic Light At Border of Hackensack, Hasbrouck Heights
No injuries were reported when a commuter bus downed a traffic light Monday afternoon at a busy intersection at the border of Hackensack and Hasbrouck Heights. Somehow the NJ TRANSIT bus being leased by Coach USA was the only vehicle damaged in the collision across from the 7-Eleven on South Summit Avenue off the corner of West Pleasantview Avenue around 2 p.m. Southbound South Summit Avenue into Boulevard remained closed for cleanup, repairs and an investigation of the accident's cause. Bus Downs Utility Pole In Paramus
A bus driver with no passengers avoided injury after toppling a utility pole in Paramus. The NJ Transit bus clipped the pole on East Ridgewood Avenue adjacent to the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. What should have been a quick trip to the mall turned into a hellish nightmare for a paralyzed Bergenfield mom. Kathy Moore -- who is trying to raise money to buy herself a handicap accessible van -- ended up riding her electric wheelchair nearly two miles home in the cold Saturday due to problems with NJ Transit buses.
