The blaze in the Lake Lackawanna section of Byram Township was one of two for firefighters on Saturday, Nov. 18. This one broke out around 3:51 a.m., the local fire department said. PA Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Route 80 In Sussex County (Update) A 35-year-old Pennsylvania man was struck and killed while crossing Route 80 in Sussex County Wednesday night, Sept. 20, state police confirmed. Troopers responded to the accident on the westbound side near milepost 23.2 in Byram Township around 7:55 p.m., NJSP Det. Jeffrey Lebron told Daily Voice. A Hyundai passenger vehicle was heading westbound when it fatally struck a man from Effort, PA, who was crossing the roadway, Lebron said. The man’s identity was being withheld pending family notification. The accident remains under investigation.

Joy Prunty, 72, was waiting in the checkout line at the Byram Township store on Route 206 when a worker hit her hip with a "stack of wheeled shopping basket carts" on July 20, 2018, the suit alleges, according to NJ.com. Police: Totowa Driver Crosses Center Line In Head-On Crash, 2 Airlifted Two people were airlifted to a hospital after a head-on crash on Route 206 in Sussex County. A Volkswagen driven by Enrico Stampone, 26, of Totowa, crossed over the center line into the southbound lane near mile post 102.5 around 7:15 a.m., New Jersey State Police said. He collided with a Hyundai driven by a 43-year-old Budd Lake woman near the border of Andover Borough and Byram Township, police said. Both were airlifted to Morristown Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.
