Alpine Driver, 44, Killed In Crash Outside CNBC Campus In Englewood Cliffs
A 44-year-old Alpine resident was killed when his car slammed into a tree on Route 9W in Englewood Cliffs over the weekend, authorities said. The Asian driver was alone when his southbound BMW ran off the road near the CNBC Sylvan Avenue campus shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, July 23, Detective Lt. Ronald F Waldt said. A Leonia patrol officer picked off two young Jersey City men who authorities said had two loaded guns when he stopped them. Officer Devon O’Donnell stopped a 2019 BMW 530i driven by George I. A repeat drunk-driving offender was sentenced to 12 years in New Jersey State Prison for a crash that killed a popular restaurant owner last September. Some BMW owners are being advised to not drive their vehicles due to potentially dangerous airbags that could pose a safety risk. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued an alert on Thursday, May 4, advising that BMW has issued a “Do Not Drive” warning that pertains to nearly 100,000 vehicles that were produced between 2000 and 2006.
