The old logo (below), Google said, was “confusingly similar” to YouTube’s and, thus, infringed on its intellectual property. YideoTube believes the new design (left), unveiled on Thursday, is … um … kosher.
For nearly two years, YideoTube has provided what it calls “a collection of quality screened entertaining videos for the Jewish community,” ranging from spoofs of anti-war activists to tips for buying ceremonial robes.
Visitors “enjoy browsing videos of interest by the categories desired such as a religious service, education, or comedy….We carefully examine each video so you don’t have to,” it says, promising only “kosher entertainment” that includes music and even screened secular clips.
By its count, YideoTube has a library of more than 10,000 videos and roughly 3,000 visitors a day.
