Troopers grab man they said brought mini arsenal to NJ by train

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: NJ State troopers said a Newark man was carrying a cache of weapons when they grabbed him after he got off a train at Penn Station.

Working with Amtrak and NJ Transit police, members of the NJSP Weapons Trafficking Bureau grabbed 40-year-old Leo Robinson after he arrived from Savannah, Ga., checked his identification and found several outstanding criminal warrants.

In his bags, they said, they found:

a Ruger 9mm pistol with a defaced serial number;

a Ruger 9mm pistol reported stolen from Savannah;

a Taurus 9mm pistol;

five pistol magazines with several 9mm rounds.

Robinson is being held in the Essex County Jail pending a bail hearing, charged with a variety of weapons offenses.
