Tractor-trailer rear-ends another on southbound Route 208 in Fair Lawn

ONLY ON CVP: A tractor trailer’s cab was heavily damaged after it rear-ended a flatbed carrying a piece of heavy construction equipment on southbound Route 208 in Fair Lawn this afternoon in a chain-reaction crash that also involved a Jeep.

Combined with a triple-fatal crash on Route 287 — also involving a tractor-trailer — the collision created extremely heavy traffic conditions in and around the area (SEE: 3 Oakland cement company workers die in fiery tractor-trailer crash on Route 287 in Mahwah).

Route 208 southbound was closed near Maple Avenue while the crash was investigated and the rigs removed. Members of the Fair Lawn Fire Department Heavy Rescue team also cleaned up a minor fluid spill.

No injuries were reported.
