The boy, who was a counselor with the English Language Learner (ELL) Summer Enrichment Program at the Lyncrest Elementary School on Morlot Avenue, “forcibly engaged in inappropriate sexual activity on numerous occasions” with the girl, who was a student there, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this morning.
The boy was being held at the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center in Teterboro on a delinquency complaint charging him with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment, the prosecutor said.
ELL students often come from non-English-speaking homes and backgrounds and require specialized or modified instruction in both the English language and in their academic courses.
