Having seen a story about police in Pennsylvania seeking teddy bears, township native Rishi Ramchandani and his wife, Nehal, gave 20 to Fair Lawn’s finest on Monday.

It will “help put a smile on a child’s face,” said Officer Luis Vasquez, the PBA Local #67 president and a former classmate of Ramchandani’s.

Ramchandani, who grew up in Fair Lawn, donated to the cause in the Poconos, where he first saw the story, then helped his Fair Lawn friends in blue.

“Fair Lawn Police had received stuffed animals in the past but were close to running out,” Sgt. Brian Metzler said. “The donated bears will be placed into service immediately.”
