Search for distraught woman ends at Fair Lawn hotel

ONLY ON CVP: An emotionally distraught woman who ran from a Fair Lawn restaurant into the frigid cold threatening to kill herself tonight was found safe in the bathroom of a nearby hotel, said authorities who were mounting a full-scale search.

The South Jersey woman had run from her boyfriend into the frigid cold from the River Palm Terrace restaurant around 6:30 p.m, said rescuers, who set up a command post at the Arcola Country Club on Paramus Road.

Firefighters, a Bergen County Sheriff’s K-9 unit and an OEM team were joining police from Fair Lawn and Paramus in the search, and State Police were being notified, when authorities pinged the woman’s cellphone and located her around 8 p.m. in a Hyatt Place bathroom.
