Police fielded five theft reports late Wednesday into early yesterday from residents in the north section of town near Fair Lawn — specifically on Colonial Avenue, Cambridge Avenue, Oak Avenue and Herbert Terrace.

All of the sheds entered were unlocked, Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler said this afternoon.

One owner reported a pair of extension cords taken, another two padlocks. Another said a lawnmower battery was missing.

“We need the community’s help in observing and immediately reporting these types of incidents when they are happening and/or when discovered,” Kugler told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“It’s more likely a local criminal looking to pawn small, easy-to-carry items for quick cash and further his/her drug habit,” the chief said.
