GLEN ROCK, N.J. – An employment recruiter from Glen Rock harassed a borough resident with notes and text messages and then sent some to himself in what became a failed effort to frame another target, authorities said Tuesday.
While harassing his target over an 18-month span, 48-year-old Brian Rooney told Glen Rock police and county investigators that he’d received similar communications – that, it turns out, he actually sent to himself, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
He then “attempted to implicate a third person as the person sending the harassing communications,” the prosecutor added.
Rooney was released without bail pending an April 12 court appearance,
He’s charged with stalking, filing a false report and hindering his own arrest, the prosecutor said.
