Alphonse Diaz, 27, had a detention hearing scheduled Wednesday afternoon after spending the night in the Bergen County Jail.
He was arrested after investigators “received information that a juvenile female reported that she was sexually assaulted by [him],” Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
Diaz was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment, he said.
