"It appears to have been a very low-speed collision and injuries were minor," Sgt. Chris McInerney said after the 3:30 p.m. crash in front of the Carrick Mor store on Rock Road.

"[The] cyclist complained only of pain in his right wrist...[and] refused to seek further medical attention" after an EMS crew examined him," the sergeant said.

Witnesses told police the bicyclist and driver were "engaged in some kind of incident/argument" at Veteran's Park on Main Street that continued as they each headed north, McInerney said.

Both turned right at Rock Road, after which the driver pulled into an angled parking spot in front of the store as the bicyclist was passing her on the right, causing the collision, he said.

No summonses were immediately issued. An investigation was continuing.
