US Airways checked-baggage screeners summoned officers yesterday morning after finding a bag leaking liquid, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said this afternoon.

Police smelled pot and found the weed in the bag, he said.

Officers who located Kelvin E. Smith at the US Airways gate moments later found an additional checked back containing the crack, Pentangelo said.

Smith was charged with drug possession.
