Multi-Agency Foot Chase Nets Glen Rock Check Forgery Suspect

GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- A suspected member of an organized group trying to pass bogus checks led police on a chase before they caught him near the NJ Transit tracks in Glen Rock, authorities confirmed this afternoon.

Law enforcement sources told Daily Voice they believe the same man visited Bank of America branches in Ho-Ho-Kus and Ramsey earlier today before police were summoned to the one on Rock Road in Glen Rock.

The nearby Central Elementary School was placed on lockdown during the search and subsequent chase of the suspecxt, who as at one point was reported hinding under a Valley Road homeowner's deck.

K-9 units from the Bergen County Sheriff's Office and the NJ Transit Police Emergency Services joined the chase, along with uniformed and plainclothed officers from Fair Lawn, Midland Park and Ridgewood.

Train traffic through Glen Rock was stopped temporarily as officers searched wooded areas near the tracks. CHECK BACK FOR MORE DETAILS
