Fair Lawn Superintendent of Schools Bruce Watson said district officials “deeply regret the actions that took place in the video.”
“We clearly do not condone [the behavior],” he said.
The teacher, identified online as William Scarnaty, can be heard shouting in the 82-second video: “Shut your mouth!”
“Don’t you ever for one second in your life think that you’re going to tell me anything,” he continues in the video, posted on YouTube last Friday.
The tirade continues, with the teacher seated at the desk and the student standing in front, blocking him from view:
“You are my G-d damned student, you get that? I’m your teacher. Don’t ever tell me what to do. Do you get it now?”
“Go cry to your counselor,” he adds, as the bespectacled student walks away, his head down.
